Bookings can be taken by email or over the phone.
A £50 deposit must be paid to secure your booking. The full payment should be made along with your £50 good housekeeping deposit of £50 6weeks before your arrival date. If you book within 6weeks of your intended stay the full payment will be required at the time of booking.
All bookings run from Sunday to Sunday unless previously arranged. Shorter breaks can be booked on request and if suitable.


Payment is either by bank transfer or cash. We do not accept credit cards however cheques are accepted if the booking is made 6weeks prior to arrival.


Arrival is from 3pm onwards and check out is at 10.30am. The key can be obtained from Spango Farm.


For lets over one week, the cottage will be cleaned on Sunday.
Bed linen and towels are provided at no extra cost. For lets over one week, bed linen will be changed on a Sunday.


Smoking is not permitted inside the cottage. Please use the ash bucket provided if smoking outside the property.


Well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement only. Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms or on the sofas under any circumstances. Pet owners will be held responsible for any damage caused to the property, contents or garden by their pet and for any cleaning that may be required.

Telephone Usage

Mobile reception can be poor at the property so there is a landline. We ask that you make short outgoing calls only. Excessive usage will be charged.


It is your responsibility to ensure all doors are locked and that the main gate is closed when you go out. We are not responsible for any loss, damage or theft to your personal property during your stay.


As the cottage is situated on a working sheep farm please act responsibly at all times and keep yourself safe. Beware of livestock, machinery and other farm activities. We cannot be held responsible for anyone entering the farm buildings as this is an out of bounce area.

Extreme weather

We are unable to issue refunds in case of heavy snowfall or if other extreme weather makes Spango Bank difficult to access. We recommend you take out holiday insurance to cover this.


Please telephone as soon as possible to let us know if you have to cancel. We will try to re-let the cottage and if we do we will refund your money. However if we are unsuccessful the following charges will apply.
4 weeks in advance = Full refund
2-3 weeks in advance = 50% of payment refunded
1 week in advance = 25% of payment refunded

Good Housekeeping deposit

A Good Housekeeping deposit of £50 is required at the time of payment. This is returnable to you less the cost of making good any damage or loss to the cottage or for excessive cleaning found necessary following your stay.
